Director and Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr O’ Rourke is a dual qualified Consultant Psychiatrist with specialist training in general adult psychiatry, psychiatry of intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder. Linda studied medicine in UCC following which she worked in internal medicine for 2 years before moving into psychiatry. She completed basic and higher specialist training in Dublin.
She has worked in London with adults with complex clinical presentations related to autism spectrum disorder at the Institute of Psychiatry, the Maudsley Hospital and the Bethlem Royal Hospital. From 2015 to 2016, she expanded a South Dublin Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Service to include assessment of adults for autism spectrum disorder.
Her qualifications include a Medical Doctorate in Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry looking at the link between ASD and mental illness in adults and she is currently progressing towards a Masters of Education in Interventional Treatments for Autism with the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Alongside her role as Consultant Psychiatrist with Core Clinical Linda continues to work as a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry with a leading Irish University and she is Vice-Chair of the Autism Special Interest Group with the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland.
